Trinity Tree

A BLESSED, MEANINGFUL CHRISTMAS WISH TO YOU!
from Dr.Neal and Nancy Carlson
"Merry Christmas!
From our'upside down Christmas tree' home
to your 'regular Christmas tree' home."
THIS IS A PICTURE OF OUR "TRINITY TREE"

How so? Come on now, whats “up”?
What's a "Trinity Tree"?
Well, it all started in the 7th century when a monk from Crediton, Devonshire
went to Germany to teach the Word of God.
(As I always use props in my sermons.)He,did also.
He spent much time in Thuringia, an area which was to become
the cradle of the Christmas Decoration Industry.
Legend has it that he used the triangular shape of the Fir Tree
to teach the HOLY TRINITY of God,
the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
He turned the tree upside down and as you see, it does have the shape of the Trinity.
By the 12th century it was being hung, upside down from ceilings
as a symbol of Christianity.
You can see in our photo the triangle shape of our little tree
So now you know the story...and yes, you can echo the words of all who come into our living room.
"What?--Why?--How come?"

Blessings and love,
Pastor Neal and Nancy Carlson
