But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
Usually order for a seed to physically grow in the natural, it first needs to be planted, then covered with good soil, fertilized, nurtured, watered, given sunlight, good air, and tender loving care. I would say all that could apply to a spiritual seed. A spiritual seed must first be planted in someone’s heart and/or mind, which hopefully is good soil, then God will bring His workers to tend it by fertilizing nurturing, and watering it under the light of His Son, Jesus Christ. God will cause the seed to grow. We seed planters are just doing our job to the best of our ability.
So, neither he who plants, nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 1 Corinthians 3:7
Therefore, as God’s seed planters, also need to be sure we are growing in our faith by continually reading and studying God’s word, praying and obeying His instructions and walking with Him daily. We need to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ if we are to be out sowing seeds in the world daily. We need to make our spiritual time a priority every day so we can plant to the best of our ability for the Lord. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
