I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; Matthew 25:35
Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers. Romans 12:13
Usually when we plant a physical seed in the natural, we will fertilize it in the soil so that it will have the nutrients it needs to sprout, prosper and grow. However, many times when we plant spiritual seeds, we won’t have that opportunity to do so. We will not always be able to nurture the spiritual seeds we plant, but if we can or if we are afforded the opportunity to do so, we should be ready and willing to offer whatever we can to help that seed prosper and grow. Perhaps we might see that the spiritual seed we planted is lying dormant, we could gently approach to see if we might nourish it with an uplifting word or gentle nudge to grow. We might sprinkle some words of encouragement upon it or pray for it to be awakened and stirred up. We can ask God to show us what seeds might need fertilizing and how He might want us to do that. As seed planters we might not always be able to fertilize, sometimes others come along after us and do that, but we can be aware and alert to the possibility that we might be called to do so at times and be prepared.
