Today's Thought:

What is righteousness
Why would I want or need it?

Righteousness means morally right or virtuous
in other words---without sin.

The Ten Commandments show us it is impossible for us
to ever achieve righteousness on our own
no matter how hard we try
we will all break one or more of God’s laws
and in so doing sin
and be out of favor with God.

Sin separates us from God,
but belief in Jesus restores that relationship
because Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law
and set us free.
By believing in Jesus,
we are saved from sin
and made righteous in God’s eyes.
Jesus death justifies us before the Father
and restores the relationship with Him that sin destroyed.

A Believing Heart is to be most desired
for it puts its faith and trust in Jesus
and thereby receives righteousness.
